The Explanation of the Hadeeth of Jibreel (a.s.) by Sister Umm Muawiyah in Dubai

Assalamu Alaikum.

Sister Umm Muawiyah will be giving a course for sisters entitled “The Explanation of the Hadeeth of Jibreel (alaihissalaam) “. [The hadeeth is mentioned below.]

This course is free and is being run in 3 locations.

1) The Meadows /Springs Masjid (Masjid As-Samad) on Saturdays (starting on March 28th) from 8.30am -12.00.

2) The same place it was held the last time i.e. Dar Al Ber in Mamzar near Century Mall / Abu Hail Centre, where the old Markaz Al Huda was situated. The timings would be from 4:30-7:00pm, every Sundays (starting from March 29th). If all goes well, insha-Allah, there will be free transport from Sharjah/Ajman and from Dubai for this location.

3) Jumeira Islamic learning centre (JILC) where the course starts on March 28th until July 4th, insha-Allah. It will be held every Saturday, from 3 – 6:30pm. There will be a break in between for prayer.
How do I register?

Email JILC ASAP or email umm.muawiyah@gmail.com .

Who is Umm Muawiyah?
Sisters can attend the first class to find out.
What is this hadeeth exactly?
On the authority of Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him), who said:
One day while we were sitting with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) there appeared before us a man whose clothes were exceedingly white and whose hair was exceedingly black; no signs of journey were to be seen on him and none of us knew him. He walked up and sat down in front of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), with his knees touching against the Prophet’s (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and placing the palms of his hands on his thighs he said, “O Muhammad, tell me about Islam.”
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “Islam is to testify that there is no deity worthy of worship but Allah and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, to perform prayers, to give zakat, to fast in Ramadhan, and to make the pilgrimage to the House if you are able to do so.” He said, “You have spoken rightly”; and we were amazed at him asking him and saying that he had spoken rightly.
He [the man] then said, “Tell me about iman.” The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “It is to believe in Allah, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers, and the Last Day, and to believe in divine destiny (qadr), both the good and the evil of it.” He said, “You have spoken rightly.”
He [the man] said, “Then tell me about ihsan.” The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “It is to worship Allah as though you see Him, and if you do not see Him, then (knowing that) truly He sees you.”
He said, “Then tell me about the Hour.” The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “The one questioned about it knows no better than the questioner.”
He said, “Then tell me about its signs.” The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “That the slave-girl will give birth to her mistress, and that you will see barefooted, naked destitute shepherds competing in constructing lofty buildings.” Then he [the man] left, and I stayed for a time. The he [the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)] said, “O Umar, do you know who the questioner was?” I said, “Allah and His Messenger know best.” He said, “It was Jibreel, who came to teach you your religion.”
It was related by Muslim.
What’s so great about this hadeeth?
It talks about everything in the religion – as simple as that. It tells us the main aspects of the deen of Allah that we all need to know and apply in our daily lives.
Do I really need to know all of this?
If you wish to spend your life without preparing for the Day of Judgement, then no, this course will be useless for you. It’s only for those who are desperate to gain entry into Paradise and to keep away from the Hell fire.
This course is too basic for me.
Umm Muawiyah: “Is it really?”
This course is too advanced for me. I don’t know anything about Islam!
Umm Muawiyah: “Well, we all have to start somewhere, don’t we? This course does not assume any prior knowledge. It’s designed for both beginners and those who want something a bit more advanced.”

“Seeking knowledge is an obligation for every muslim”. -Ibn Majah.
=================================================================
Just wanted to add there is a free creche being set up (aswell as free transport :) alhamdullillah) for children between the ages of 1 and 5, at the Mamzar location insha-Allah. Mums are welcome to attend the course and make use of this facility.

Mothers should bring food and an extra set of clothes etc for their children. The creche is limited to 15 children so please book early to avoid disappointment. The registration for this course will close next week. Please email umm.muawiyah@gmail.com for further details and to register.
Please do let others know so that they may benefit from this course even if you cannot attend yourself!
Jazahkummullahu khairan.

Wa alaykum salaam wa rahmatullah.

========================================================
As salamu alaikum,

The registration for this will close on 11th April insha-Allah. As well as free transport, there is also a free babysitting creche for children between 1 and 5 years at the Mamzar location. This is limited to the first 15 children.
